Our Story Started in the USVI
After the devastating hurricanes of 2017, engineer Rob Tutton saw firsthand how fragile the Virgin Islands’ energy infrastructure was. Working with the Love City Community Network, Rob began designing solar-battery systems to support community recovery. That effort grew into a deeper mission—and IRIE Solar was born.
Originally known as Vital Solar Technologies, the company evolved and rebranded to better reflect both its engineering precision and its island soul. Today, IRIE Solar represents innovation, independence, and “Irie” — the feeling of well-being and harmony we aim to bring to every client.

Second-Life Products
Second-Life Products
Batteries and other solar components are difficult to dispose of on St. John and other islands. Our Second-Life Products give solar components a new purpose—offering low-cost, off-grid power during outages while reducing landfill waste. Each product is tested for performance and backed by our local team.
Sellers receive reimbursement for their used equipment, helping offset the cost of upgrading to newer, more efficient solar systems.
